Town of Sturbridge 2024 Nomination Papers Available

Sturbridge Town Clerk, Lynne Girouard, has announced that nomination papers are now available for the Annual Town Election to be held on Monday, April 8 2024.  Candidates must be registered voters and (obtain at least) 43 signatures of registered voters to be placed on the ballot.  The following is a list of the positions that are open:

1 for 3 years   Moderator

2 for 3 years   Board of Selectmen

1 for 3 years   Board of Assessors

1 for 3 years   Sturbridge School Committee

2 for 3 years   Tantasqua School Committee

1 for 3 years   Constable                        

1 for 3 years   Board of Health              

1 for 3 years   Recreation Committee

1 for 1 year     Recreation Committee

2 for 3 years   Zoning Board of Appeals 

3 for 3 years   Library Trustees

1 for 1 year     Library Trustees

Monday, January 8, 2024 Nomination Papers available for pick up

Wednesday, February 14, 2024 Last day to take out papers.

Friday, February 16, 2024 (5:00pm) Last day to submit papers to the Town Clerk/Registrars.

Thursday, February 29, 2024 (5:00pm) Last day to object /withdraw

Friday, March 29 2024 (5:00pm) Last day to register to vote for the Town Election.

Monday, April 1, 2024 (5:00pm) Last day to request a Mail in Ballot

Monday, April 8, 2024 Town Election

Also, a reminder that the 2024 Dog Licenses are now available.  Male and female dogs are $15; altered dogs are $10.  Current rabies vaccination records are required to license your dog(s).  Applications are available on the Town Clerk’s webpage as well as on the Town Census.  Penalties will be levied after March 31, 2024.
