Building Department & Zoning Enforcement Office
Update: Effective July 9th, 2023, any Roof Top Solar Permit Applications now must be reviewed by the Fire Department in conjunction with the Building Department. Please contact the Fire Department 508.347.2525 x306 for their requirements on permit applications, plans, supporting documentation, fees, inspection schedules etc. The Building Department requirements have not changed. Please continue to send your Building Permit applications to the Building Department with a set of plans, fees (separate checks for Building and Electrical), engineered load info (snow) document(s) and customer acknowledgment. This department will continue to schedule the electrical and building inspections with our inspectors.

Online Applications (for Electric, Plumbing & Gas): We are no longer able to provide an online permitting/payment service due to continued computer glitches. Please download applications from our website under "Permit Forms: Applications & Documents" and you may either drop off at 301 Main St. OR send via regular mail to: 308 Main St., Sturbridge MA 01566. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Permit Applications: We have a Drop Box, Plan Bin or Snail Mail for your permits. These bins are located outside of our building (at the rear entrance) of 301 Main Street. These bins are checked frequently. Mailing Address: 308 Main Street, Sturbridge, MA 01566 Attn: Building Dept.

Then click on the link for "On Line GIS"
Then click on "Agree", then at the next screen, enter the street number & name in the top left hand corner and hit "enter" key
